The puppies are beautifully marked with a lot of white (which I LOVE). Each puppy is definitely unique.

Puppies will be wormed and vaccines started before they go to their new homes. In addition, we will be BAER testing and eye-checking the puppies before they leave as well.

I am impressed with Fuze's mothering - she is keeping them so clean and well fed (they are growing so fast!). The puppies are never fussy, and they make the cutest "piggie" noises.

So far, all the puppies seem to be very content, even sleeping through some of the ENS that started this week.

The puppies had three visitors this week. Everyone thought they were adorable!

We moved the puppies into the family room, and Fuze is very comfortable with the other dogs, even seeming to invite Ticket and Kira into the whelping box to see her babies. The only dog she won't let in is our 12 year old pit bull, Bogey. Probably a smart thing with his intense prey drive - but what Fuze doesn't know is that Bogey loves puppies!

We continued the ENS this week and trimmed nails for the first time. All of the puppies were great about that, but I think because they were asleep for the most part! We spend time with the puppies daily just petting them and touching ears, feet, tails during our petting time.

The puppies had two visitors this week - and both were amazed at how cute they are!

The personalities are emerging and each puppy is its own distinct little being. So amazing!

So far, the number 3s (Nitro and Bang) are the most vocal and whine and cry when they aren't happy and seem to want their own way, the numbers 2s (Boom and Dyna) are the most mellow and are content no matter which position they are being held (Dyna also seems to be the thinker of the group), and the number 1s (Blast and Blitz) are inbetween the 3s and 2s. It'll be interesting to see if that stays true.

Fuze is starting to spend less time with the puppies, content to lie outside the whelping box for a couple of hours at a time. The puppies are spending more time awake and exploring all the adventures in their whelping box. During Week 3, we'll expand their area and add stimulous items (like a tippy plank, different textures, etc).

We expanded their area and removed the whelping box. Every day we introduce new challenges, via different toys, tippy planks, poles to walk over, etc. We will also we working on getting the puppies to use one area of their area for a potty place, one area for a bed, and the rest for PLAY!

The puppies are definitely developing their own personalities. We have mellow puppies, nonstop puppies, and middle of the road puppies. But, even the laid back puppies seem to have inherited their mom's love for toys!

We will start then on puppy food this week, something I think Fuze will be happy about - as the combined weight of the puppies is approaching her own weight. In addition, they will be taking their first trip - to Vacaville on their 4-week birthday!

We can start to see personalities coming through! All of the puppies are eager to explore the new locations or new challenges we add to their puppy pen. Nitro and Bang are the best tuggers, with Blast and Boom not far behind. Blast will also try to retrieve a ball (he mostly tries to swat it with his feet and may come in our direction - but it's a start!). Blitz and Dyna love to play with our Aussie, Ticket, but are very respectful and puppy appropriate.

Next week we will try to start shaping a sit and continue socialization. We will also start to take the puppies on short trips individually. In addition, more grooming sessions (brushing, bathing, clipping nails (Blast actually wags his tail while we trim his nails!)) are on order.

So far, the puppies have been working on their rules of seven. They have been on 7+ different surfaces (wood floor, carpet, vinyl, grass, dirt, gravel, deck, rubber, contact surface), played with 7 different types of toys (plastic bottle, fleece tug, rope, big ball, small ball, giggle ball, flashing ball, vinyl squeaky toys, fur toys, cardboard, etc), played with 7+ different people (including kids and elderly with walker) and will continue to meet many more, they are working on their 7 challenges (have already done shallow stairs, poles, tunnel, climb over stuff, go in and out of a gate, walk on a tippy plank, stand on air disc), working on eating from different containers (so far hand fed, plastic and stainless steel), working on eating in different areas (so far, puppy pen, family room, and patio).

Let me just say - we are very busy!
