In a house full of dogs, Fuze, the border collie, is, by far, the easiest to live with. She is an independent girl that wants to try everything! Fuze does obsess over the tennis ball, and if we're not careful, she will play retrieving games by herself, rolling the ball down the deck stairs, and bringing it back to the top, only to roll it down again!

Pretty young dog
Fuze is a fun dog to work on stock. She has superb talent and is shaping up to be an extrodinary little dog. Debbie Pollard (Herding 4 Ewe) is trianing her and will trial her in the AKC, ASCA and AHBA arena trial programs. Fuze is biddable, has natural square flanks, an amazing ability to rate her stock, and good sense.

Todd has started training Fuze for agility, where she has a grand time. She has excellent distance skills and LOVES to play with Todd. She shows tremendous promise, and coming from two top agility dogs, Stacy Peardot-Goudy's Beep and Sarah Johnson's Rav, she has big paws to fill!

She is also actively competing in flyball turning in times in the low 4s. She is currently her team's start dog and Fuze LOVES to race the dog in the other lane!

Fuze is a very stable dog with an excellent temperment. She is calm, confident and biddable. She is friendly with other people and dogs alike. Nothing seems to phase this young dog who is so sweet, we have nicknamed her "muppet".

She will work stock for anyone. She will also run flyball for any handler on the team...Fuze has a great work ethic.

She is just such a cool little dog! If I could clone her - I would!!! Fuze, with her outstanding ability on stock, her amazing temperment, and wonderful health, we bred Fuze in the fall. Please click here to learn more!

We are focusing on Fuze's herding training to get her ready to trial this year. She is learning to widen out on her outrun, the finesse of penning sheep, and to "that'll do". She rates her stock extremely well, and is a very honest dog. Fuze entered her first trial - AKC in excellent sheep. She was fantastic, bringing home a High in Trial with her first place ribbon. What a way to start her herding career!

She entered two more AKC trials, finishing both ducks and sheep titles, and earning 8 points toward her championship - with high in trials and overall high score for both of the weekends. Fuze also entered her first AHBA trials and finished both ranch and arena titles in the advanced class, as well as winning high in trial and high overall for the weekend. Fuze and Debbie make an amazing team!

We did do a couple of jumpers runs last fall, and she is qualifying and earning first places! Even with a bobble, she is running 6+ yps, and she's not even trying yet! Fuze has a naturally easy jumping style and does not knock bars (yeah!). She does focus on her handler, so she requires very accurate handling - Todd has been learning to step it up! The other challenge for Todd is Fuze will work distance and that is something very different from velcro Kira.

We are also changing from a running contact to a two on/two off while in a down. She was continually hitting near the top of the yellow, and it's just going to be too close to call when it comes to competition. She is picking up the stopped contact very quickly - gotta love a border collie!
